On Thursday morning, just after 3:00 am, Quincy Police responded to a call at the 800 block of North 12th Street to check the well-being of a female who had reported that she had just been attacked by her ex-boyfriend. The female victim had obvious injuries but refused medical attention.

The suspect, Daniel Holdiman, had fled prior to the officers’ arrival. A search was conducted, but the suspect (who was on parole with the Illinois Department of Corrections) was not immediately located.

At 11:30 am, officers arrived at 2331 Harrison to attempt to locate Holdiman. While officers spoke with individuals at the side of the residence, another officer spotted Holdiman attempting to leave out the back door. Upon seeing the officer, Holdiman turned around and fled out the front door. He was apprehended after a lengthy foot chase in the 2200 block of Walters Court and transported to the Quincy Police Department and, ultimately, Adams County Jail.

Holdiman was arrested for Aggravated Domestic Battery and Resisting a Peace Officer. The Illinois Department of Corrections issued a parole violation warrant for Holdiman as well.
