A Loraine man faces disorderly conduct charges following an incident early Thursday afternoon in Mendon.

Adams County Sheriff’s deputies were called to 225 West Collins at 1:12 p.m. in reference to a man with a gun. Deputies located 21-year-old Harley Foster nearby with a steak knife strapped to his wrist. During the investigation it was learned that he entered the Mendon Public Library, had a brief conversation with the librarian and was asked to leave. The incident report says Foster also went to Unity High School and was asked to leave by the superintendent as he was walking toward the front door.

Foster was taken into custody without incident and was taken to the Adams County Jail following a psychiatric evaluation.
