The second-degree murder trial for a former St. Louis police officer accused of killing a northeast Missouri man has been delayed until April.

The Quincy Herald-Whig reports that 59-year-old Glenn Head, now of Novelty, Mo., is charged with second-degree murder in the Dec. 11 shooting of 67-year-old William Bacon. Authorities say the shooting happened during a dispute on Bacon's property southwest of Novelty in Knox County.

The trial will start April 7 in nearby Clark County on a change of venue.

Head was a St. Louis officer from 1977 to 1988.
