The Danville Dans scored seven runs in the first three innings and never looked back as they beat the Hannibal Cavemen 12-4 Tuesday night at Clemens Field.

The Dans opened the scoring with four in the second on a wild pitch, two RBI singles and a run-scoring double.

The Cavemen got one of those runs back in the bottom of the second as DH Emilio Lollio singled, went to third on a double by catcher Troy Wehde and scored on a groundout by third baseman Brett Marr.

Danville broke the game open in the third as they scored three times without a hit. Cavemen pitching gave up six walks, the last two with the bases loaded.

The one bright spot offensively for Hannibal was a solo home run in the sixth off the bat of second baseman Sam Griggs.

The Danville scored three more in the eighth and two in the ninth, with the Cavemen scoring two of their own in the bottom of the ninth.

Hannibal's final home game of the season is Wednesday night as the Quincy Gems come to town. Game time is 6:35 p.m. To listen to the live webcast, click here.
