The Hannibal Cavemen outhit the Danville Dans 12-5, but stranded ten runners on base in a 3-2 loss at Clemens Field Tuesday night.

The Dans opened the scoring in the second on a walk to first baseman Matthew Holcombe, a triple by third baseman Logan Steinberg and a single by second baseman Brett Rasso.

The Cavemen tied the game in the bottom of the second on a lead off single by third baseman Seth Soto and a two-out home run by left fielder Nicco Lollio.

What turned out to be winning run for Danville came in the third on a lead off double by DH Grant Mayeaux, who stole third and scored on a sacrifice fly by catcher Matt Fortin.

Hannibal starter Tyus Adkins and reliever Jordan Chapel shut down the Dans the rest of the way. Meanwhile, the Cavemen were only retired in order in the ninth, but couldn't push across the tying run.
