The weather outlook for northeast Missouri and western Illinois in the coming week has a familiar ring to it.

National Weather Services forecasters call for anywhere from a 20 percent to 70 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms through next Sunday.

While the chance of rain Monday stands at 40%, precipitation is expected to be scattered and no severe weather is expected in the area.

The best chance of heavy weather looks to be Tuesday night, with a 70% chance of storms. Strong winds, hail and tornadoes are a possibility.

The only day there isn't a chance of rain forecast is Friday. High temperatures are predicted in the 80s through Wednesday, cooling to the mid to upper 70s through the weekend. Lows should stay in the 60s all week.
