LONDON (AP) - Kimberly Rhode of the United States topped the qualifying round in women's skeet shooting on Sunday, furthering her bid to become the first American to win an individual-sport medal in five straight Olympics. Rhode missed only one of her 75 shots in the qualifying session. Her score of 74 is an Olympic record, topping the 72 posted by Chiara Cainero of Italy four years ago. Rhode is a four-time Olympic medalist, with golds in her collection from the 1996 Atlanta Games and the 2004 Athens Games. The medal round is later Sunday.
