Construction Zone Crash on US 54

(PITTSFIELD)—A collision in a construction zone on US 54 in Pike County, Illinois at mid afternoon Thursday results in charges for two drivers. Illinois State Police say a car driven by 25 year old Richard Prudom of St. Charles, Missouri failed to reduce speed and hit a car parked in a construction zone and occupied by 33 year old Jose Vera Perez of Mexico. Impact pushed the Perez vehicle into the rear of a parked tandem dump truck. Both drivers refused  treatment for injuries. Prudom is charged with failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. Vera-Perez is cited for no valid drivers license.
