Marion County Commissioners Monday voted to replace the heating system in the Marion County Courthouse in Palmyra.

According to Presiding Commissioner Lyndon Bode, a backup furnace had been heating the courthouse since November. Then, last week, issues arose with the backup system.

The commissioners okayed the seeking of bids for replacement of both the main and backup furnaces.

Peters Heating and Air Conditioning in Hannibal put in a $32,900 bid to replace both systems.

Work to replace the furnaces in the Marion County Courthouse is expected to start next week.
