A Quincy man already in prison for his role in the accidental shooting death of a seven year old girl last year gets more prison time for an unrelated case.

31 year old Shannon Combes pleaded guilty to one count of aggravated battery in connection with an incident last January at 715 Oak in Quincy. He was immediately sentenced to five years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.

But before he serves that sentence, he will have to finish the three-and-a-half year prison term he is currently serving for possession of a weapon by a felon.

That charge came in connection with the shooting death of seven year old Melina Torres during a family gathering near Beverly on May 20th, 2016.
