Colorado Man Hurt in Hancock County Crash

A Colorado man suffers serious injuries in a one-car crash in Dallas City just before 2 a.m. Friday.

The Illinois State Police reports 29 year old Mathew Roy of Pueblo was eastbound on Illinois 96. Roy’s car left the roadway, hit a retaining wall, came back across the road and rolled over.

As the car was rolling, Roy was thrown from the car and landed on the roof of a house. The car came to rest when it hit another house.

Roy was taken by Air Evac to Blessing Hospital in Quincy and later transferred to Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.

The crash remains under investigation.
