A Colorado couple was arrested Friday on a variety of drug related charges in Pike County Illinois.

The Illinois State Police report that troopers had conducted a motorist assist on a rural Pike County road and became suspicious of the couple.

The vehicle was seen parked on the Pittsfield square around 10 a.m. Friday. A K-9 unit was called in and alerted to the odor of narcotics.

A search of the vehicle revealed more than five grams of suspected methamphetamine, a small amount of suspected cannabis and drug paraphernalia.

As a result, police took 39 year old William Cherry and 43 year old Toni Ticknor, both of Fort Lupton, Colorado into custody, and charged them with possession of meth, cannabis and drug paraphernalia.
