Saturday turned out to be a beautiful day in more ways than one for a local organization.

The numbers are in the Color in Motion for Kids in Motion 5k fun run/walk fund raiser that took place June 20. The run/walk raised about $12,000 for the KIM program.

Other items to take note of for the day:

Ayden Nichols and Whitney Bichsel were the first male and female respectively to cross the finish line.

The biggest team was Hannibal Regional Hospital with more than 70 registered. Many of the participants were there as part of a team or family, with even strollers and dogs getting into the action.

Kids in Motion kids threw the color and lots of volunteers were on hand to make sure everyone was safe. Hannibal Parks and Recreation helped coordinate the event.

Kids in Motion is a part of Douglass Community Services. It's a pre-employment/service learning program for at-risk youth between the ages of 12-15.
