A two-car collision in southwest Missouri claims the life of a Quincy man.

The Missouri Highway Patrol reports the crash happened at 10:30 am Friday on I-44 in Jasper County.  Troopers say 34 year-old Lucas Morriss of Quincy was traveling westbound when he reportedly fell asleep at the wheel. The Morriss SUV sideswiped another westbound car driven by a 37 year-old Kansas City, Kansas woman.

The collision caused the Morriss vehicle to skid off the roadway, crashing into a sign before overturning and striking a tree.  Lucas Morriss was pronounced dead at the scene.  Three children in the Morris vehicle ranging in age from 9 to 13 suffered minor to moderate injuries and were taken to a Joplin, Missouri hospital.
