Our warmer and wetter than normal season continues this week in northeast Missouri and western Illinois.

National Weather Service forecasters call for the first half of the first week of 2016 to be sunny to partly cloudy, with clouds taking over Wednesday.

The chance of precipitation moves in Wednesday night, with the best chance of rain coming Thursday, Thursday night and Friday.

There is a slight chance the rain could be mixed with snow Saturday and Saturday night, with partly sunny skies on tap for Sunday.

High temperatures for the week start in the low 30s Monday, move to the upper 30s Tuesday, then settle into the 40s Wednesday through Saturday. Highs will fall back to the mid 30s Sunday.

Lows start in the low 20s Monday, climbing to the mid 30s Thursday and Friday, then falling back to the mid 20s Saturday.
