Coatsburg Man Drowns in Argyle Lake

The body of an Adams County man was recovered from Argyle Lake near Colchester early Wednesday morning.

McDonough County Sheriff Rick VanBrooker reports the body of 22-year-old Derrick Hull of Coatsburg was found in the lake about 12:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Authorities say Hull was one of two men in a boat on the lake Tuesday afternoon. The boat began to take on water and sank. The other man, 22-year-old Dustin Tanjerose of Camp Point, swam to shore but couldn’t find Hull.

The apparent drowning is believed to be an accident. An autopsy was to have been performed Wednesday morning.

Hull was a 2010 graduate of Camp Point Central, where he quarterbacked the football team his senior year.
