Clark County Circuit Clerk Mary Jones Resigns

(Kahoka, Mo)-- The Clark County Circuit Clerk placed on administrative leave Wednesday has since resigned.

Circuit Judge Gary Dial issued the order placing Circuit Clerk Mary Jones on leave Wednesday afternoon.  Jones’ resignation on Thursday comes after reports of possible financial improprieties in the Circuit Clerk’s office.

Officials from the State Auditor's Office are expected to begin an audit of the Circuit Clerk’s Office next week.
