Friday night the Highland Cougars and the Clark County Indians met in week 3 of the 2012 high school football season. The Highland Cougars entered the contest 0 - 2, while the Indians came in with a record of 2 - 0.

Clark County scored first in the ballgame; they recovered a fumble by Highland, Logan Prewitt took it in 30 yards for the score, 7 - 0 Clark County.

The closest Highland would get, with 11:06 to go in the second quarter, a 33-yard field goal by Lane Sly that made it 7 - 3, but Clark County would score the next 5 touchdowns in the game.

In the second quarter they scored three times, all on runs by their quarterback Austin Egley, 32, 28 and 47 yards. It was 28 - 3 at halftime.

At the end of the third quarter they scored again on a 27-yard run by Jacob Trump, 35 - 3 at the end of three quarters.

They scored once more in the fourth quarter, a 10-yard pass to Javen Ray, 41 - 3.

And then, finally, against the second team defense, the running back, Zack Phillips, scored from 31 yards out for Highland, only their second touchdown of the season. The run was no good, the final score was 41 - 9 as Clark County goes to 3 - 0 and Highland falls to 0 - 3.

Highland will host Palmyra next Friday night. That game will be streamed live on KHMORadio.com.
