A frozen sprinkler system resulted in evacuation Thursday afternoon of 29 residents at the Clarence Care Center.

The residents were taken to the nearby Clarence Medical Clinic. No injuries or complications are reported. 22 of the residents were taken to the Salt River Nursing Home in Shelbina. Seven others went home with family members. A frozen water line for the building’s sprinkler system burst and shorted out some of the lights.

Plans are to have the residents back in the Clarence Care Center by this evening.
