Christian Illusionists Performing at the Kroc Center

This sounds like so much fun. The Salvation Army Kroc Center will host two free magic shows and Friday and Saturday. Ed and Marge Jarvis are retired officers of The Salvation Army, and are professional entertainers. Ed does magic, and Marge is a professional puppeteer. Both shows will take place from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday at the Kroc Center, 405 Vermont Street in Quincy.

The Salvation Army Kroc Center will play host to two free magic shows for the public on Friday and Saturday evenings, August 21-22. The shows will feature Ed and Marge Jarvis, retired officers of The Salvation Army as well as professional magician and puppeteer.

The magic shows, based on the Gospel, will be held in the Worship Theater of the Kroc Center from 6:30 to 8:30pm each night. Admission is completely free to the public, and reservations are not required.

Majors Ed and Marge Jarvis (Jarona and Company) are Evangelists for The Salvation Army. They have traveled the country performing over 500 programs each year, and are now bringing their talents to the Kroc Center in honor of The Salvation Army’s 125th Anniversary in Hannibal, Missouri. The Jarvis’s are former officers for The Salvation Army in Hannibal.

Ed started magic in 1948 when as a young boy he was inspired by Joe White, who was billed as “The World’s Smallest Gospel Magician”. Ed did his first public show in 1952, and has been very busy ever since. Marge is an accomplished puppeteer, having started in puppetry in 1978. Their program consists of magic, music, ventriloquism, puppets, drama and dynamic preaching.

Ed and Marge had their own TV show for 3 1/2 years called Sal’s Corner with Sparkles T. Clown (Ed). It was an educational and Christian program for children. In 1986 it was honored by the People’s Choice Awards for children’s programming.
Ed is author of the book The Gospel Magician’s Digest and holds a Ph.D. in Christian Counseling.
