The Chillicothe Paints scored all the runs they needed in the first inning, sweeping a two-game with the Hannibal Hoots with a 7-3 win Thursday in Ohio.

Hannibal starter Dalton Overstreet had a rough opening frame, with three walks, a  throwing error and a single leading to an early 4-0 Paints' lead.

Chillicothe scored another run in the fourth and two more in the fifth.

The Hoots got on the board with a run in the sixth on a single by right fielder Patrick Donahue and an RBI base hit by shortstop Josh Lane.

Hannibal mounted a rally in the ninth, scoring twice on consecutive bases-loaded singles by second baseman Joe Roscetti and third baseman Chris Iazzetta.

The loss drops the Hoots to 3-6, while the win improves Chillicothe's record to 5-2.

Hannibal's road trip ends with a stop in Terre Haute to take on the Rex Friday night. After a day off Saturday, the Hoots are back home to face Danville at Clemens Field at 3:05 p.m.
