An Iowa judge has sentenced a 36-year-old Chicago man to 10 years in prison following his conviction in defrauding two Dubuque businesses.

The Telegraph Herald reports Iowa District Court Judge Thomas Bitter also ordered Jerrod Y. Joiner to pay restitution, but its amount has yet to be determined.

Joiner had pleaded guilty to two felony charges of credit card fraud. He and four others were arrested after an investigation by Iowa officials found the group completed 13 fraudulent credit card advances in Dubuque County from April to June.

Prosecutors say Joiner was involved fraudulent advances at Diamond Jo and Mystique casinos for a total loss of $6,200.
