A St. Louis man is in custody following an investigation into counterfeit money used in Marion County.
Authorities say Rashad Clayton was arrested following an investigation by Marion County Sheriff’s deputies, Palmyra Police and the Missouri State Highway Patrol. Complaints about an individual spending the phony money at several businesses in Marion County started the investigation. Clayton was arrested Tuesday. Numerous counterfeit $20 bills were recovered along with misdemeanor amounts of marijuana. Bond for Clayton is set at $25,000.
