(LOUISIANA)--   You’d better hurry if you want to use the free shuttle service during closure of the Champ Clark Bridge at Louisiana.    The 84-year-old structure closes for a week of major repairs at 6 p.m. this Friday, and Saturday is the last day free passes for the boat will be available.
You can get yours by calling Two Rivers Marina in Pike Station Illinois at 217-437-2321.    The boat will shuttle up to 80 passengers at a time from the marina to a dock site near the Louisiana Boat Club on weekdays only.    Departures from the Illinois side are at 6 and 7 a.m., with return trips from Missouri at 6:30 and 7:30 a.m.    The afternoon schedule is departure from Illinois at 3:30  and 5, with returns from Missouri at 4 and 5:30.    Passengers must sign a waiver and provide their own life jackets. No vehicles will be allowed.
The service means that commuters won’t have to drive to Hannibal or Saint Louis to cross the river. The bridge is expected to re-open to one-lane traffic on May Fourth.
