A 34 yard touchdown run by Chris Sparks gave the Cougars an 6-0 lead in the first quarter of their opener against Centralia. Sparks finished the evening with 10 carries for 57 yards. On defense, Smith racked up 13 tackles... a sack and a fumble recovery.

Centralia took the lead with a 20 point second quarter en route to the win. Seven penalties and three turnovers hurt Highland's chances. Cougars visit Brookfield next Friday night.
