Central Elementary School in Camp Point was locked down for a short time around mid morning Monday.

The Adams County Sheriff’s Office reports the school was locked down around 10 a.m. as the result of incident in Camp Point in which a male subject caused a disturbance in his home and ran away.

The subject was seen later in Bailey Park, and was taken into custody a short time later.

According to Central Superintendent Marty Cook, the school was locked down for less than ten minutes, and once word came from authorities that the subject was in custody, the lock down was lifted.
