Cavemen Host Gems Tonight at Clemens Field

The rivalry continues Sunday as the Quincy Gems travel to Hannibal to take on the Cavemen in Clemens Field.If you can’t make it to the game, listen on khmoradio.com. Pregame gets underway around 6:20.

On Saturday, the Cavemen improved their record to 3 and 5 with a win on the road.  The final was Hannibal: 8 Kokomo: 4.

Meanwhile, the Gems lost to the Rex Saturday. The final was Terre Haute: 7 Quincy: 3.
The Gems are 7 and 2 on the season.

In the MLB,  the St. Louis Cardinals used the long ball to surge past the San Francisco Giants in front of a sell-out crowd at Busch Stadium Saturday.  The Cardinals were down 4 to 0 early on but exploded with four runs in the 5th inning, thanks to a solo homer by Brandon Moss, followed  by a three-run shot from Aledmys Diaz. Stephen Piscotty and Matt Adams hit back to back homers in the 6th.  The final was Cardinals 7, Giants 4.

The Redbirds play the Giants Sunday evening.  Pregame on KHMO begins at 6:10.
