Officials have announced the cause of death of the two children who died in a Friday night house fire.

Adams County Coroner John Myers Monday reported that eight year old Toby Brewer and five year old Emma Kramer died of carbon monoxide intoxication due to the inhalation of smoke and soot due to the house fire.

An autopsy was conducted on the children Saturday in Bloomington.

Fire crews were called to the residential blaze at 611 North 8th Street at 9:10 p.m. Friday, responding to a report of people trapped inside the home.

An investigation is still underway into the cause of the fatal fire.

Funeral arrangements for Toby Brewer and Emma Kramer are being handled by the Duker and Haugh Funeral Home in Quincy.
