Did the skunks in the Cardinal dugout scare away the Rally Squirrel?

Four skunks reportedly found their way into the visiting Redbirds' dugout at Dodger Stadium Friday night.  Despite the extra excitement, the Cardinals pulled off a win, defeating Los Angeles 2 to 1.  The skunks escaped capture.

The Cardinals have had encounters with their own critters at home.  Several years ago, a squirrel ran across home plate during a playoff game in Busch Stadium.  That started a fan craze that made the "Rally Squirrel" the unofficial mascot of the team.

It seems the skunks may have scared the Rally Squirrel with their appearance.  Dodger Pitcher Clayton Kershaw stifled the Cardinal bats, limiting the Redbirds to only one hit Saturday night, as Los Angeles shut out the Cardinals by a score of 2 to 0.

The Cardinals and the Dodgers play Sunday evening.  Pregame on KHMO is 6:13 p.m.
