The AL Central-leading Royals won for the 10th time in 13 games. The Royals finished with 17 hits, including five doubles at U.S. Cellular Field.

ATLANTA (AP) - Jon Lester lost his bid for a no-hitter in the eighth inning -but ended the longest winless streak of his career as the Chicago Cubs shut out the Atlanta Braves 4-0 Saturday night. The Cubs had lost eight straight at Turner Field dating to 2012. Manny Banuelos took the loss for the home team in Georgia.
