Car Train Crash Injures Two

(VANDALIA)—Two Vandalia residents escape with moderate injuries after driving into the path of a Kansas City Southern freight train at 6:42 Sunday evening. The Missouri Highway Patrol says 19 year old Cody Ruby of Vandalia failed to yield at a grade crossing on Audrain County Road 557 just south of US 54. Ruby and a passenger—52 year old Vicki Brown of Vandalia were taken to University Hospital in Columbia for treatment.
