Car-Pedestrian Accident Claims Life of Louisiana Man

The Pike County, Illinois Coroner’s office is investigating a car-pedestrian accident that claimed the life of a 40 year-old  Louisiana, Missouri man.

KHQA News is reporting Daniel Calvin was struck near the Copperhead Tavern in New Canton Friday night.

Authorities believe Calvin was attempting to cross Highway 96 in a poorly lit area when he walked into the path of a southbound vehicle.  He was pronounced dead at the scene.
