A Quincy man faces several charges after his car hit a house late Tuesday afternoon.
Quincy Police say a car driven by 23 year old Austin Hays was eastbound near 24th and Harrison at 4:55 pm when it crossed the westbound lane and hit a house on the north side of Harrison. As police arrived, Hays drove east on Harrison, hitting a vehicle and other private property. Hays turned south on 36th and crashed into a ditch near Prairie Ridge Drive. After an evaluation by medical personnel, Hays was arrested for fleeing to elude a peace officer, leaving the scene of an accident, improper lane usage, disobeying a traffic control device and speeding. Hayes was released pending a January 23rd court appearance.
