Canton Tigers, Marion Co Lady Mustangs State Bound

The Canton Tigers basketball team make their first trip to the state tournament after defeating Fr. Tolton 72 to 66 Saturday.Canton will take on Iberia at the Hearnes Center in Columbia Thursday evening.

In Girls' High School Quarterfinal action, the Marion County Lady Mustangs will make their 5th trip to the state tournament in 6 years after edging Linn County in Overtime, 51 to 46.  Marion Co. will play Walnut Grove in Columbia Thursday afternoon.

The Palmyra Lady Panthers battled Hermann Saturday.  The final was Herman 53, Palmyra 39.

The Knox County Girls basketball team lost to New Franklin in Overtime, 60 to 58.

In Illinois Girls basketball, the QND Lady Raiders take third place in Class 3a tournament action, soundly defeating Burlington Central 64 to 40.
