A Hannibal man enters a not guilty in Monroe County Circuit Court Thursday to charges filed in connection with a shootout in January in Monroe City.

Timothy Brokes, Jr. pleaded not guilty to charges of assault of a law enforcement officer, armed criminal action and hindering prosecution of a felony.

Brokes is alleged to have been involved in a shooting with Monroe City Police officer Travis Pugh. Both men were wounded as a result of the confrontation.

A passenger in the Brokes car, June Smith, was also arrested at the time.
