A Facebook post wound up being key in the arrest of a Bowling Green man on burglary charges last week.

According to Pike County Sheriff Stephen Korte, a series of burglary reports had been made to his office and to Bowling Green Police.

An item in a picture posted on Facebook by the sheriff’s department was recognized by a Louisiana Police Officer as something he had seen in a traffic stop.

This led to recovery of some of the stolen items and the arrest last Thursday of 23 year old Douglas Edward Joseph Ford of Bowling Green for receiving stolen property.

Sheriff Korte said the arrest solved at least five burglaries and that additional charges could be filed in the case.
