Body of Missing Carthage Boater Recovered

Authorities say the body of a missing boater has been found.

Adams County Coroner Jim Keller says the body of 31 year old Tyler Harris of Carthage was found late Monday night in the Mississippi River by the Quincy Emergency Corps near Long Island. Harris was pronounced dead at 8:01 Monday evening. Harris and 31 year old James Son were fishing on the Mississippi River Friday when their anchors failed causing their boat to go over the spillway at the Keokuk lock and dam. The boat was brought ashore at Alexandria. An autopsy on Harris is scheduled for today (TU) An investigation into Harris’ death is being conducted by the Illinois Conservation Police.
