Blunt– No Winners in Government Shutdown
(WASHINGTON)--U.S. Senator Roy Blunt says there were no winners in the stalemate which led to the federal government being shutdown for 16 days. The Missouri politician was the only Republican member of this state’s congressional delegation to vote for the compromise legislation which ended the shutdown and headed off a default on the nation’s debt. Blunt says the only reason the Democrats don’t look terrible is that the Republicans look worse. He says it’s clear the government spends too much and borrows too much.
