A late night search warrant Wednesday resulted in the arrest of John D. Benjamin, age 40 of 2603 Lexi Lane in Quincy.

West Central Illinois Task Force, Quincy Police Department, and the Adams County Sheriffs Office served the warrant at Benjamin's residence as part of an on going methamphetamine trafficking investigation.  Seized during the warrant were items that tested positive for  methamphetamine, cannabis, and drug paraphernalia.  Benjamin was transported to the Adams County Jail were he remains lodged.

M/Sgt. Patrick Frazier of the West Central Illinois Task Force reports that Benjamin's arrest is connected to the arrest of Harold C. Hills, age 52 of Liberty.  Hills was arrested by the task force on June 6th on IL 104 just east of Quincy.  Hills was found to be in possession of a large amount of methamphetamine ICE.  Hills is charged with methamphetamine trafficking and is also lodged in the Adams County Jail.  The investigation continues and additional arrests are anticipated in the case.
