The Hannibal Jaycees are working hard to make this year's haunted house truly exceptional. Chris Powell, chairman of the Hannibal Jaycees Haunted House, took us through the haunted house site to give us a behind the scenes look at things to come in 2015.

"It's one of our biggest events all year long," said Powell. "Tom Sawyer Days is our biggest, and the Haunted House is our second-biggest. We've been working on this house since April. We're pretty much gutting this entire house, starting over. Everybody kind of learned the maze we've had for the last three years, so we pretty much tore it all the way down to the studs and we're starting over again this year."

The Hannibal Jaycees Haunted House will open the first Friday in October, and will be open every Friday and Saturday throughout the month, including Halloween night. Admission is $10 per person. Season passes are available for $50. No children under the age of 5 can be admitted to the house, and all children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

New to the Haunted House this year will be an attraction called The Last Ride, which is a motion simulator ride that includes a "casket cam" so your family and friends can watch you take your "last ride." Tickets to The Last Ride are $5.

Zombie Paintball will be back at the Haunted House in 2015.  A combo deal for $15 is available that includes entry into the maze and the Haunted House, PLUS twenty paintballs for the outside shooting gallery. Additional Zombie Paintball rounds can be purchased for $5.

The Hannibal Jaycees Haunted House will also be the site of the Zombie Run 5K, which is returning to Hannibal after a year off. The Zombie Run will take place on Saturday, October 10. Online registration is available now. The race begins at 6 p.m. Registration the day of the race will begin at 4. The cost for early registration is $20. The price goes to $25 after September 25.
