ORIGINAL STORY:

Anyone with the desire to do something constructive on a Saturday morning is invited to the annual Bear Creek Cleanup in Hannibal September 13.

The 1819 Hannibal Stream Team heads up the effort from 9 a.m. till noon Saturday. If you'd like to help, come to the Dempsey Dog Park at 6th and Ely.

Volunteers get a Stream Team t-shirt, with gloves, water and snacks also available.

The last Bear Creek cleanup netted four truck loads of junk and recyclables. The usual array of trash, along with items like tires and shopping carts wind up on the banks of Bear Creek during the course of the year.
