A Barry man is in custody in connection with a convenience store robbery Sunday night.

The Pike County Sheriff’s Office reports that a man wearing a black mask entered the Jiffi Stop on Highway 106 in Barry Sunday night, asking the cashier for money.

The man then allegedly went behind the counter, stuffed about $100 worth of cigarettes into a book bag and fled the scene.

An investigation led to the execution of a search warrant Monday at a Barry residence.

As a result, 29 year old Joseph Young was charged with burglary and theft under $500.

Young is lodged in the Pike County Jail.
