August started out much wetter than normal, but ended up as warm as we would expect for late summer.

According to the numbers from the Hannibal Filter Plant, rainfall totals came in at a whopping 8.28 inches, more than twice as much as average. The wettest days were 3.29 inches of rain on the 7th and 1.94 inches on the 17th.

After a stretch of continued mild weather through mid month, with eight days of high temperatures only in the 70s, Hannibal saw the warmest days of the season toward the end of the month. The mercury topped out at 92 degrees on the 22nd and the 24th and reached 94 on the 25th and 26th.
