Audition for a part in the story that panicked the nation with Quincy Community Theatre’s production of 'War of the Worlds: A Live Radio Play!' Auditions are September 17 by appointment only from 6:00-9:00 p.m.

Enthrall our “studio audience” as we celebrate the 75th anniversary of the original radio broadcast of Orson Welles’ 'War of the Worlds,' detailing the crash of a mysterious meteorite, a deadly Martian invasion—and the complete devastation it leaves in its path. Originally airing 75 years ago as part of The Mercury Theatre On Air, this terrifying tale of war and destruction sent nearly twelve million people into mass hysteria. Now is your chance to recreate the horror as an actor or live sound effects expert right before the audience’s very eyes! 'War of the Worlds: A Live Radio Play' runs October 4 & 5.
'War of the Worlds: A Live Radio Play' will be rebroadcast on WGEM radio on Halloween, giving live audience members the chance to become a part of the show. 'War of the Worlds: A Live Radio Play' is directed by Managing Artistic Director Lenny Bart. Scenic and lighting design is by Technical Director Paul Denckla with costumes by resident designer Anna Grywalski.

Rehearsals are minimal and no memorization is required as scripts will be used during the show. Detailed character descriptions and rehearsal information is available online at www.1qct.org. Auditionees should also familiarize themselves with the script, online under ABOUT US: "Members and Volunteers." A password is required for access.
All roles are available and all are welcome to audition, regardless of experience. To schedule an audition or for password information, contact the box office at (217) 222-3209.
