The official first weekend of summer is a busy one around northeast Missouri and western Illinois.

The group Renaissance Hannibal hosts its 3rd annual Downtown Hannibal Art Fair Saturday and Sunday. Exhibitors from a wide area will be set up with a variety of art items for viewing and purchase. The fair runs Saturday 10 to 6 and Sunday from 10 to 4.

The Rotary Club of Hannibal hosts it first Fiesta Del Sol from noon to 9 p.m. Saturday in Central Park in Hannibal. There will be food, music, a home brew competition, and an appearance by Ingrid Croce, the wife of the late singer Jim Croce.

The Timewell Lion's Club's 25th annual Toy Show takes place Saturday from 4 to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 9 to 3 at the Timewell Gym.

The American Cancer Society Bark for Life is Saturday at South Park in Quincy. The canine event starts with registration at 8 a.m.

Quincy Kennel Club hosts a couple of dog shows Saturday from noon to 5 p.m. at QKC's training facility on Commercial Drive in Quincy.

Hannibal Parks and Rec at Tom Boland Ford hosts the 3rd annual H.O.R.S.E. tournament Saturday at the Norfolk & Southern Multi-Sports Complex at 6th & Warren Barrett Drive. Registration is at 9, with play at 9:30.
