Arrest Made, Investigation Continues into Barry Church Burglary

One arrest has been made as the investigation continues into the burglary of a Pike County, Illinois church earlier this month.

Pike County Sheriff Paul Petty reports that the Baptist Church in Barry was burglarized early on the morning of August 11th.

The initial investigation led to the arrest of 21 year old Harley Abney of Barry on a charge of criminal damage to property.

The investigation into this and other burglaries in the immediate area continues. Sheriff Petty says more arrests are expected.

Abney’s first court date is scheduled for September 4th.
