An Arizona man has waived extradition on an Illinois first-degree murder charge in the shooting death of a 12-year-old Quincy boy.

Maricopa County Superior Court spokeswoman Karen Arra tells The Quincy Herald-Whig that Illinois officials have 30 days to get 20-year-old Steson L. Crider of Chandler, Arizona. Arra says Crider signed paperwork during a brief hearing Wednesday. He is charged in connection with the death of Ray Humphrey Jr. on March 28.

Adams County Sheriff Brent Fischer says the county likely will use a transport service to bring Crider to Quincy, but the sheriff says he didn't know when that would happen.

Three others also charged in the case are held at the Adams County jail.

Quincy police have said the boy wasn't the intended target of the shooting.
