A felony case against a former Pike County Sheriff candidate is continued in Montgomery County.

Grover Lynn Turner Junior of Louisiana is accused of seven felony counts of assault and one felony count of property damage. He also faces a misdemeanor charge of making a false report.

Turner allegedly caused more than 67 hundred dollars in damage using his pickup truck to ram another vehicle. The incident allegedly took place on Route UU early the morning of July 29 of 2012. There were no injuries.

The misdemeanor charge accuses Turner of lying to authorities about the location of his pickup.

Turner was a candidate for Pike County sheriff in 2012, but lost the November election to incumbent Stephen Korte.

The case was earlier moved to Montgomery County on a change of venue. The next hearing is scheduled for April 2.
