After a stormy start to summer, more severe weather is an almost daily possibility in northeast Missouri and western Illinois.

As of Monday morning, National Weather Service forecasters say the best chance of showers and thunderstorms comes after mid-morning Monday, with a 50% chance, followed by a 40% chance of precip Monday night.

After a break Tuesday and Tuesday night, forecasters call chances of rain ranging from 20 to 40 percent Wednesday through Sunday.

Temperatures are expected to back off a bit to begin the week, with highs in the mid 80s. Highs will creep back to the upper 80s by the weekend. Nighttime lows will settle in at around 70 by mid-week.
