A sentence of ten years for theft and burglary charges is issued for a man also serving prison time for the Newcomb Hotel Fire.

26-year-old Matthew Clark was sentenced Thursday in Adams County for stealing a truck and other items in August 2014. Authorities say that theft occurred around the time Clark was accused of stealing a van from Transitions in Quincy then setting in on fire in a barn in Pike County Illinois. Clark entered a guilty plea to theft and arson charges in Pike County stemming from that incident.

In 2014, Clark was sentenced to 48 months probation following a guilty plea to burglary related to the September, 2013 fire that destroyed the vacant Hotel Newcomb building in downtown Quincy. Probation was revoked following the incidents during the summer of 2014.
